She debuted in 1997 and gained recognition for her role as Sam Taggart on ER (1998–2003). Her film work includes Freestyle (2004), Silver Linings Playbook (2012), Gravity (2013), and Green Book (2018), earning an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress for the latter.
