Eileen Gu (born September 3, 2003, San Francisco) is an American-Chinese freestyle skier and two-time Olympic champion. She won her first adult World Cup stage in 2019 at age 15. At the 2022 Beijing Olympics, competing for China after obtaining citizenship in 2019, she earned gold medals in big air and halfpipe and a silver in slopestyle, becoming the first woman to win three freestyle skiing medals at a single Olympics. After the Games, she paused competition to study sociology and art at Stanford, pursue fashion, and engage in business activities.
Returning to competition in 2025, Gu won multiple World Cup stages, reinforcing her position among the world’s top freestyle skiers. She maintains a strong social media presence with over two million Instagram followers and collaborates with major brands and fashion magazines. Gu is recognized as a cultural figure connecting the US and China, noted for her athletic achievements and advocacy work, while keeping her personal life private.
