Alysha Newman, born on June 29, 1994, in London, Ontario, is a Canadian pole vaulter and the bronze medallist at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She won the 2018 Commonwealth Games and holds the Canadian record with a vault of 4.85 meters. Initially a gymnast, a serious back injury during her teens led her to switch to athletics. By age 15–16, she was already setting records and competing internationally while attending the University of Miami and Eastern Michigan University.
